Speaker Bio
Mark Garnett has been actively involved in the specialty chemicals and oil and gas industries for almost 30 years. Working as a process control engineer, maintenance manager and project manager, Mark has gained valuable experience and insights in all aspects of the manufacturing process. During his career, Mark has had the opportunity to work in various world areas including; the Middle East, Africa, Europe and North America – giving him a unique perspective of the similarities and differences between work practices in various types of industries and world areas. As Maintenance Manager, Mark was integrally involved in various shutdowns, turnarounds, cost reduction and efficiency projects. During his tenure as a Maintenance Manager, Mark was responsible for reducing shutdown, turnaround and outage (STO) times by 20 percent while ensuring safe work practices were the key objective. Currently Mark is managing process control technology projects (PCT) with a value in excess of USD 50 million for the Lanxess Corporation within North America.
